Hunt Information
• Please fill in all required information. A $10.00 application fee required per applicant. The application fee is non-refundable even if the hunt is cancelled or you are unable to participate. Only one (1) application per person will be accepted for the muzzleloader and general rifle hunts. If duplicate applications are found, the primary permittee of the group will be allowed to determine the group that the duplicate applicant will be a part of. All other duplicate applications will be removed from consideration. Application fees under these circumstances will not be returned.

• Participation for the muzzleloader season may be subject to limited participation for non-Lanai residents.

• If necessary, a lottery drawing will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00am at the J. Cameron Center, MEO building in Kahului. Only successfully drawn muzzleloader hunters will be mailed an application card.

• A Lanai resident is defined as an individual who has a permanent mailing address and has lived on the island for six (6) continuous months.

• All applicants must possess a valid 2025-26 State of Hawaii hunting license before their hunting date; those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult possessing a valid 2025-26 State of Hawaii hunting license while hunting.

• The bag limit for the 2025 Lanai Mouflon Sheep season will be four (4) Mouflon Sheep; one (1) either sex, two (2) ewes and one (1) non-typical ram per hunter per authorized hunt. Hunters will be required to purchase one (1) ewe tag and one (1) either sex Mouflon sheep tag. A second ewe tag and a non-typical ram tag will be issued free of charge with the purchase of all required tags. Tags are non-transferable and are valid only for the specific hunt for which it was issued. See hunt announcement and addendum for tag fees and other requirements.

• General rifle and muzzleloader applicants are allowed to apply for and participate in the archery only hunt.

• Successful applicants must report to the Lanai hunter check station the Thursday preceding their assigned hunt date or on Friday to check in, validate permits and if applicable, purchase game tags. To be validated, the permittee must show identification and sign the permit in the presence of an authorized officer of the Department of Land & Natural Resources and the officer must sign and date the permit. Hunters also have the option of checking in online using the OuterSpatial app.

• For the muzzleloader hunt, check station hours will be from 8:00am to 6:00pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025 and from 7am to 9am and 1:00 to 3:00pm, Friday, August 8, 2025. Checking in (Outer Spatial) and purchasing of tags (Go Hunt, Hawaii) will be available online. Hunters are encouraged to purchase and print tags online and report to the hunter check station to check in.

• Upon completion of the hunt, hunters must check out by returning their permit card, including providing harvest data, to the hunter check station. Hunters may check in and upon completion of the hunt, check out and report harvest information online using the Outer Spatial app.

• For the Muzzleloader season, hunting Units 1 and 2 will be available for hunting from Friday through Sunday.

• Hunter assistant permits will be issued at this time - one (1) hunter assistant may accompany a senior citizen or disabled hunter and must possess a valid 2025-26 State of Hawaii hunting license. A disabled hunter is defined as an individual who has an impairment that limits one or more of that person's major life activities. Current (within 90 days) physician's certificate required.

• Application period begins Monday, March 31, 2025 and ends at 4:00pm, Friday, May 2, 2025.

• Lottery results will be available on the internet at: www.dlnr.hawaii.gov/dofaw and on GoHunt, Hawaii (Announcements) by 4pm, May 23, 2025.

Location
Lanai Cooperative Game Management Area (LCGMA)

The LCGMA is the area on the northwest portion of Lanai with the southernmost boundary extending from the western shore off of Kaumalapau Hwy and traveling east along said road to #57 road. From #57 road heading in a north-northeasterly direction along the former pineapple field to the junction of Polihua road and Ka'a Road. At the junction heading in a southeasterly direction to the Horse Pasture connecting to the Keomoku Road and following the said road to the northeastern shore of Lanai. The Kanepu'u Easement Area is excluded from the LCGMA.

• Each hunter shall be limited to carry one muzzleloader rifle of .45 cal. or larger in the hunting areas.

• Hunting permits and game tags are non-transferrable and may not be traded between hunters.

• Hunters must abide by the provisions of Chapter 123 when hunting on Lanai during the hunting season.

• Applicants may apply in parties up to a maximum of eight (8) persons. Lanai residents may apply with non-residents by submitting their applications together to the (off islander) public drawing on Maui. No non-Lanai resident may submit his or her application with that of a Lanai resident for the Lanai resident drawing.

• Guides will not be required. If you need someone to guide you, be sure you submit an application for that individual who must apply as a hunter. Commercial guides are prohibited for this hunt.

• Only senior citizens and disabled hunters permitted the use of hunter assistant.

• Hunters may bone the animal with the exception that a hind quarter must be tagged with genitalia and skin still attached.

• Any hunter encountering feral goats in the area may take these animals, regardless of sex and number. Hunters must have in their possession an unused tag.
